Monument For The Weight Bearers: Proposal No. 1 is a print edition of 10, based on Francesca Lalanne's interest in exploring figurative space and the working body within the metropolis. Using downtown Los Angeles as an architectural backdrop, a colossal figure floats in a manner suggestive of rest while sheltering smaller figures.
Proposal No. 1 is a 3 color serigraph using Jacquard inks on BFK Rives 280 gsm paper. It includes 24 karat hand gilded silhouettes that add a unique character to each print.
Each print is hand-pulled, signed and numbered by the artist and authenticated by a holographic seal on the back, matching the seal on the COA card.
