1 of 1 Collaboration print with artist Ofelia Marquez and Francesca Lalanne
The black woodblock print was prompted by a refrán or idiom “ candil de la calle, oscuridad de su casa”. This refrán is about a person's positive bright behavior outside/visible but changes to an opposing behavior when they are inside their home. Speaking on repressed, hidden, guarded behavior that could stew into something grotesque.
The golden screen printed elements were added after and became load bearing figures, there to traverse and make sense of the mental weight through acts of healing.
